Learn about the forest’s medicinal plants, ancient trees, and unique ecosystem as you explore. Next is Salaam Cave in Kizimkazi. This is a natural limestone cave with clear groundwater pools. It’s a peaceful, cultural site where you can swim in the cool cave water and learn about Zanzibari beliefs and history from your guide. We end the day at Mtende Beach on the southeast coast. Drive south to Jozani Forest approx 45 minutes. 08:45 AM - 10:00 AM - Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park Arrive at Zanzibar’s only national park. With a local guide, walk the mangrove boardwalk and jungle trail. See the rare Zanzibar red colobus monkeys bush babies, and learn about medicinal plants. Photo stop and nature walk. 10:15 AM - 11:15 AM - Salaam Cave, Kizimkazi Drive 30 minutes to Kizimkazi village. Visit Salaam Cave a sacred natural limestone cave with clear groundwater pools.
